Title: Corporate Development Associate
Reports to: Director of Corporate Development
Salary: Commensurate with education and work experience
Location: Washington, D.C.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Work closely with the Director of Corporate Development to develop and implement strategies to meet fundraising benchmarks, including strong membership renewal rates, aggressive prospecting, and increased revenue.
2. Assist in managing relationships with prospective and existing donors, including identifying, qualifying, and initiating contact with potential leadership; developing appropriate cultivation strategies for prospects; analyze their giving history and potential.
3. Organize and maintain Salesforce database for the following:
a. Accuracy in constituent files and company points of contact; 
b. Historical membership and sponsorship giving;
c. Current year membership and sponsorship giving and payment tracking;
d. Development Reporting.
4. Assist in drafting and editing fundraising materials, including, but not limited to, annual development collateral (membership and sponsorship booklet), letters, emails, newsletters, press releases, proposals, foundation grants and metric evaluations, acknowledgments and presentations in collaboration with other HACR team members.
5. Work closely with programs and accounting departments to ensure accuracy in reporting across multiple platforms including: CVENT, Salesforce, and QuickBooks.
6. Act as a liaison between company POCs and HACR’s internal accounting to ensure any open invoices are collected and financial information is updated.
7. Create and present progress and budget tracking reports to the Director of Corporate Development.
8. Oversee the product placement and administration of sponsored products at events; Assist in managing sponsor speaker logistics and sponsorship benefits for HACR annual conferences and events.
9. Provide outreach support to research, communication, and program departments for event registration, HACR initiatives or as needed.
10. Perform other duties as requested.


A Bachelor’s degree in a related field, along with one (1) to two (2) years of experience in development, database CRM management, member or constituent relations (including substantive internships) is required.

Other qualifications include:

• Experience working with Fortune 500 companies and/or private foundations within a nonprofit environment. Experience working in organizations supporting community programming or corporate social responsibility is a plus.
• Comfort and familiarity with direct solicitations; must be a self-starter, independent, and entrepreneurial in spirit with a positive attitude and highly professional demeanor.
• Experience in fundraising a plus.
• Highly organized and able to work both independently and on a team.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across internal and external stakeholders; project management experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience composing successful proposals, fundraising appeals, acknowledgements, and business correspondence.
• Experience working with development/organizational database systems such as: Salesforce, QuickBooks, Social Tables and/or CVENT required.
• Possess a high level of discretion and is able to work with sensitive information.
• Must be organized and highly detail-oriented.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Dropbox.
• Willingness to take on additional responsibility for other duties and projects as assigned.
• Occasionally attend evening work related events.
• Ability to travel inside the U.S. as required.
• Proficiency in Spanish, a plus.
