Alliance for Board Diversity
The Alliance for Board Diversity (ABD) is a collaboration of four leadership organizations: Catalyst, The Executive Leadership Council, the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility, and Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics, Inc. The Prout Group Inc. an executive search firm, is a founding partner of the alliance and serves as advisor and facilitator. The groups have a common goal to enhance shareholder value by promoting inclusion of women and minorities on corporate boards.
Catalyst is the leading nonprofit organization with a mission to expand opportunities for women and business. We act as a catalyst through our pioneering research, our tools and services, our events, and our Awards. Together, our offerings raise awareness of how diversity benefits today’s global businesses, and provide guidance on how to enact real change. The Executive Leadership Council (ELC) is a national organization comprised of current and former African-American CEOs and senior executives at Fortune 500 and equivalent companies. For more than 25 years, the ELC has worked to build an inclusive business leadership pipeline and to empower African-American corporate leaders to make significant and impactful contributions in the global marketplace and their communities.
The Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics, Inc. (LEAP) has been intent on "growing leaders" within Asian and Pacific Islander (API) communities across the world. When LEAP opened its doors 31 years ago, it had a simple yet powerful idea: that in order for API communities to realize their full potential and to foster robust participation in this increasingly globalized world, these communities would have to begin producing leaders who could advocate and speak on their behalf. A national, nonprofit organization, LEAP works to meet its mission of achieving full participation and equality for APIs through leadership, empowerment, and policy.
