The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) congratulates Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart, Vice-Chairman of the House Rules Committee and Chairman of the Subcommittee on Legislative and Budget Process on his reelection as Chairman of CHLI. Congressman Diaz-Balart chairs a nineteen member board committed to creating a broader awareness of the diversity of thought, heritage, interests and views of Americans of Hispanic and Portuguese descent.
CHLI , a not-for-profit and non-partisan organization, serves as a testament to our youth, families and communities of the vibrant and increasingly important role of the Hispanic and Portuguese community in the United States. This year’s talented board of directors also includes Ms. Raquel “Rocky” Egusquiza with Ford Motor Company, Mr. Troup Coronado from BellSouth, and Mr. Bert Gomez from R.J. Reynolds. Together these individuals aim to further strong partnerships with the small business community, the public and private sector and similar minded international organizations.
“Since its founding in 2003, CHLI has been committed to providing more opportunities for Hispanics and to serving as an alternative voice for the Hispanic community,” said Diaz-Balart. “Through initiatives like the Ford Leadership Program, which has already sponsored fifteen students, CHLI is changing lives and helping our Hispanic community,” concluded Diaz-Balart.
