The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) established a comprehensive partnership with Comcast, the nation’s leading provider of cable, entertainment and communications products and services, to build awareness of LULAC’s public service programs and identify employment and education opportunities for its membership. This partnership was officially kicked-off at LULAC’s Legislative Awards Gala in Washington, D.C. on March 1, 2006, for which Comcast served as the Platinum Level corporate sponsor.

“We are pleased to enter into a working partnership with Comcast not only for events such as our Gala and National Convention, but also look forward to a long-standing relationship in the years to come,” said Brent Wilkes, Executive Director of LULAC. “Comcast’s commitment to working with LULAC further demonstrates their commitment to the Hispanic community.”

“We are proud to partner with LULAC and support their mission of advancing the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, health, and civil rights of Hispanic Americans,” said Comcast Executive Vice President David L. Cohen. “We look forward to working together on a long-standing relationship, through which Comcast will create opportunities and foster growth for LULAC and its membership. Through partnerships such as this, and numerous other initiatives throughout our company, Comcast is fully dedicated to reflecting the diversity of the communities we serve.”

Comcast is the first communications provider to join LULAC’s Corporate Alliance. The membership of LULAC’s Corporate Alliance includes many of the top Fortune 500 corporations in the United States all of which have made a commitment of support to LULAC’s growth and to the welfare of the Latino community.
