Sponsored by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), The Outstanding American by Choice recognition highlights the importance of citizenship rights and responsibilities through recognition of the outstanding achievements of naturalized U.S. citizens.
In June, Cuban American National Council President and CEO Guarione Diaz was honored by USCIS Director Emilio T. Gonzalez as an Outstanding American by Choice.This year’s recipients include: U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez, Senator Mel Martinez, and Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (FL-18), among others.
