Raquel Egusquiza Named National Corporate Business Advocate of the Year by USHCC

Raquel “Rocky” Egusquiza, director of Community Development and International Strategy for the Ford Motor Company Fund, received the National Corporate Business Advocate of the Year award during the USHCC’s 2005 National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

“On behalf of HACR, I want to congratulate Rocky on this well-deserved recognition,” said Rima K. Matsumoto, executive director of HACR. “This prestigious award speaks for itself. Rocky is a demonstrated leader who works tirelessly with and for the Hispanic community. She has been a true advocate of HACR and our mission.”

Egusquiza is responsible for the development of the Fund’s international strategies and oversees its arts and humanities projects. In addition, she is accountable for developing, evaluating, and recommending funding to over two hundred local, regional and national not-for-profit organizations. She, also, oversees worldwide disaster relief efforts for the company and manages national social programs grants.

Prior to joining Ford in May 2001 as director of Community Development, Egusquiza worked at AT&T's governmental affairs office in Florida, where she was responsible for developing AT&T's strategic government relations program. She also worked as the director of Governmental Affairs initiatives for AT&T Broadband before municipal governments during AT&T's merger with TCI and MediaOne. Currently, she serves on the boards of directors of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, MANA, A National Latina Organization, and the National Hispanic Corporate Council.
