Arisa Batista Cunningham Joins Empatha’s Board of Directors

Arisa Batista Cunningham of Johnson & Johnson has been elected to the board of Empatha, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Social Health Association.

“On behalf of HACR, I would like to congratulate Arisa on her appointment to the board of Empatha,” said Rima K. Matsumoto, executive director of HACR.“We sincerely appreciate her work over the years in support of HACR, and wish her well in her new endeavor.”

“Arisa Batista Cunningham brings a wealth of experience and talent to the Empatha board, and a unique perspective from the community level,” said Dr. Gary Noble, chair of the Empatha Board.

Cunningham is vice president of diversity, Medical Devices & Diagnostics Group Worldwide, Johnson & Johnson corporate staff.She is responsible for initiating and coordinating activity within the Medical Devices & Diagnostics Group to achieve the diversity vision throughout the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies.

Cunningham has extensive experience in domestic and international marketing, strategic planning and patient advocacy with companies such as Procter & Gamble, American Can Company, Revlon and American Home Products. Cunningham joined Johnson & Johnson in 1994 as the director of marketing for Direct Access Diagnostics where she established the marketing, sales and public relations strategies for the world’s first home HIV Testing and Counseling Service. More recently, she was director of Patient Advocacy in the Strategic Consumer Group supporting Ortho Biotech Products, a HACR Corporate Member.

Cunningham received her BS in Marketing from Madison University in Virginia and her MBA from Ohio University in Ohio.
