Francisco Codina Named Group Vice President of North America Marketing, Sales and Service for Ford Motor Company

Ford Motor Company recently named Francisco Codina group vice president of North America Marketing, Sales and Service.

“Cisco's promotion is a well deserved recognition of his accomplishments and business focus on what is right for the customer. In his capacity, he will be the primary contact for our 5,000 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury dealers and will have responsibility for all of our North American Ford, Lincoln and Mercury - Marketing, Sales, Service and Parts Operations,” said Jim Padilla, president and COO of Ford Motor Company.

“On behalf of HACR, I would like to congratulate Francisco Codina on this well deserved appointment,” said Rima K. Matsumoto, executive director of HACR. “Codina is a 30 year veteran of the auto industry who will play a crucial role in helping Ford recapture market share in the US.”

Codina joined Ford in 1977 as a zone manager and parts and service representative for Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD) in New Orleans, where he held a variety of field assignments. In 1982 he was named special liaison assistant to corporate executives. For the next 15 years, Codina held several positions in FCSD in the Los Angeles office, including service operations manager, before moving to Lincoln-Mercury marketing. He also worked in two international assignments – in 1995 as marketing and customer service director, Ford of Mexico and managing director, Ford of Argentina in 1998 before being named president of that operation in 1999.

In August 2003, Codina was appointed, vice president, Ford Customer Service Division, later to become vice president of Ford Motor Company and president of Ford Customer Service Division. In this position, he was responsible for customer service, parts sales, distribution and logistics in North America and vehicle service and technical support operations.

Codina is a native of Cuba and came to the United States with his family in 1965. He has a bachelor's degree from Alabama University and is on the university's School of Commerce Board of Visitors. Codina serves as the Executive Champion of the Ford Hispanic Network Group (FHNG), one of 11 Ford Motor Company employees’ resource groups that support various comapny and ciommunity diversity efforts at Ford.
