HACR Corporate Members Make Two Popular Top 50 Lists

This week two popular Hispanic magazines, Hispanic Business and Latina Style, released their 2006 top 50 companies for Hispanics and Hispanic women respectively.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors would like to congratulate our Corporate Members who were recognized as top companies by these two magazines,” said Carlos F. Orta, president and CEO, HACR.“Brand loyalty is a major characteristic of the Hispanic consumer market and companies who understand and are responsive to the needs of this market will have access to the $700 billion Hispanic purchasing power.Many Hispanics look at these types of rankings to decide which brand they will support in the long term.”

Hispanic Business magazine based their ranking according to the companies’ commitment to Hispanic hiring, promotion, marketing, philanthropy, and supplier diversity.Meanwhile, Latina Style evaluated companies based on issues that according to the magazine’s readers are important to them such as the number of Hispanic women executives, Hispanic women board members, mentoring programs, educational opportunities, job training and more.

McDonald’s Corporation was voted “2006 Company of the Year” according to Latina Style’s Top 50 list.Meanwhile, Bank of America ranked as the top company according to Hispanic Business magazine.

Other HACR Corporate Members that were recognized include: Aetna, Inc., Altria Group, Inc., AT&T Inc., Citigroup Inc., Comcast, Coors Brewing Company, DaimlerChrysler Corporation, Denny’s Restaurants, Eastman Kodak Corporation, General Motors Corporation, IBM Corporation, Marriott International, Inc., MGM MIRAGE, PacifiCare, a UnitedHealthcare Company, PepsiCo, Inc., Sodexho, Inc., Verizon Communications, and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.
