SER Jobs for Progress National President Elected to Chair HACR Board of Directors.


Ignacio Salazar, President of SER-Jobs for Progress National, Inc. of Dallas, Texas has been elected Chairman of the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) Board of Directors.

“I am honored to be selected by my fellow HACR Coalition Members to assume the chairmanship of such a renowned and respected advocacy organization,” said Mr. Salazar. “It is gratifying to work with such a committed team of community leaders to advance our collective goal of increasing Hispanic inclusion in Corporate America in the areas of employment, procurement, philanthropy and governance.”

The newly elected officers, who also comprise the board’s executive committee, will assume their duties January 1, 2009, and will serve a two-year term that expires December 31, 2010.

Also elected to serve on HACR’s Executive Committee are:

· Guarione Diaz, president & CEO, Cuban American National Council (Miami, FL) – HACR Vice Chairman


· Clara Padilla Andrews, president, National Association of Hispanic Publications (Portland, OR) – HACR Secretary


· Ron Blackburn-Moreno, president & CEO, ASPIRA Association, Inc. (Washington, DC) – HACR Treasurer (reelected)

HACR’s Board of Directors is comprised of 16 Coalition Members whose executive directors, board chairpersons, presidents and CEOs form HACR’s governing body. In pursuit of its mission, HACR offers corporate America direct access to the Hispanic community — its talent, entrepreneurs, and leadership — creating a forum to ensure corporate responsibility and economic reciprocity for the nation’s Hispanic consumers, taxpayers and voters.
