Ernesto de la Fé, a member of the 2004 class of the HACR/Harvard Business School Executive Education Program on Corporate Governance, has been appointed treasurer and chairman of the Fiscal Affairs Committee of the Public Health Trust of Miami-Dade County.

“I am both honored and humbled by the trust put on me by our chairman, board members and our county commissioners. I am fully aware of the enormity of the task at hand and will rely on my fellow board members and hospital staff to help meet the challenges ahead,” commented de la Fé.

“On behalf of HACR, we congratulate Ernesto de la Fé on his appointment,” said Rima K. Matsumoto, executive director of HACR. “Mr.. de la Fé is a recognized leader with a strong commitment to Miami-Dade County and our community in general.”

Mr.. de la Fé is managing director with Lehman Brothers’ Wealth and Asset Management Group. Since 1994, he has held several senior positions within the firm including managing the group’s efforts in Florida and Latin America. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Mr.. de la Fé held numerous managerial positions with Merrill Lynch in Europe, Latin American and the United States. His career includes international experience in Asset Management, Corporate Finance, Sovereign lending, Securities Sales, Private Equity and Foreign Exchange for institutions and significant family groups.

Mr. de la Fé is actively involved in community activities. He is a board member of Bay Point Schools for at risk teen boys, the New America Alliance Institute, the Florida International Bankers Association, the Cuba Study Group and is a member of the Council of the Americas.
